On April 27th, 23 tornadoes swept through Alabama demolishing homes, communities, businesses and leaving over 200 people dead. The Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (ACDLA, a NACDL affiliate) reports that many of its members have lost their practices as their offices were wiped out. These lawyers are doubling up with other ACDL members to share office space, computer equipment, and law office basics in order to continue their important roles representing the accused.
Anyone in a position to assist is urged to do so. With assistance to criminal defense lawyers, contact Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association; With general assistance, contact the Mid-Alabama Region chapter of the American Red Cross.
